Born in Manlleu (Barcelona), Jordi Domènech studied piano and singing in Spain and the United Kingdom, training with Josep Benet, Charles Brett at the Royal Academy of Music, and Laura Sarti at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
He has collaborated with leading ensembles such as Europa Galante, Il Giardino Armonico, Venice Baroque Orchestra, London Baroque, and Al Ayre Español, performing at major European festivals including Granada, Innsbruck, Ambronay, and Bruges.
In the operatic field, he has sung in productions of Monteverdi, Vivaldi, Händel, Purcell, and Cavalli at Europe’s most important theaters: Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Staatsoper in Hamburg, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and Maestranza in Seville, among others.
He has participated in the world premieres of works by Adriano Guarnieri and Aldo Corghi at Teatro alla Scala, as well as works by contemporary composers at the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Teatre Lliure in Barcelona.
In the field of oratorio, he performed the complete cycle of Bach's cantatas over eight years in Madrid, in addition to Bach’s Mass in B minor, Passions, and Magnificat, Händel’s Messiah, and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
Recently, he made his debut as a harpsichordist and musical director in Händel’s Acis and Galatea and Monteverdi’s Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda.
He also composes for young audiences, publishing his works with the Dinsic and Pagès Editors publishing houses.
