Fabio Biondi established himself at an early age on the international scene as a violinist, acclaimed for his virtuosity and the depth of his research in passionate performances of the Baroque and Classical repertoire.
Since founding Europa Galante in 1989, he has brought these same qualities to the podium, conducting and leading the ensemble from the violin in a repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the Romantic era.
As Artistic Director and founder of Europa Galante, he has developed a distinctive and authentically Italian approach to historical performance, blending elegance with dramatic intensity.
With Europa Galante, he is a regular guest at the world’s most important festivals and prestigious concert halls: from Teatro alla Scala in Milan to the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, from Tokyo's Suntory Hall to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, from London's Royal Albert Hall to the Musikverein in Vienna, and from Lincoln Center in New York to the Sydney Opera House.
Today, Fabio Biondi embodies the perpetual search for a style free from dogmatic constraints, always striving toward the discovery of original musical languages.
As both soloist and conductor, he collaborates with world-renowned orchestras. In 2025, he conducted the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, the Orchestre Métropolitain in Montreal, the Copenhagen Philharmonie, and the Finnish Radio Orchestra.
In 2026, he conducts the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the SWR Symphonieorchester, Chicago Baroque, and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.
A long-standing opera conductor, he has worked in major international opera houses, including the Zurich Opernhaus, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, and the Grand Théâtre in Geneva.
From 2015 to 2018, he held the position of Music Director of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, conducting operas by Donizetti, Rossini, Haydn, and Verdi.
