A deeply curious artist, she sought to explore diverse disciplinary areas and graduated in Piano, Organ and Organ Composition, Choral Conducting, and Orchestral Conducting.
She studied at the Basel Conservatory and the Salzburg Mozarteum. Her primary mentor for over 25 years was Maestro Daniel Chorzempa.
Elena Sartori earned her degree from the University of Bologna with a thesis on Gregorian Chant.
Her curiosity has driven her to investigate the paths of lesser-known and forgotten composers.
Extensive research allowed Elena Sartori to bring to light the Italian profile of the forgotten Florentine Jean-Baptiste Lully, a study later resumed years later by Federico Maria Sardelli.
For Moni Ovadia’s project ("Gerusalemme porta dei popoli", Amadeus 2010), Elena Sartori recorded the Sequentiae by Hildegard von Bingen.
Acclaimed as an organist and conductor, she received the Special Mention at the Abbiati Awards in 2023 and a nomination for the International Classical Music Awards in the same year for the first complete recording of Luigi Rossi’s L'Orfeo (Glossa).
Her research into the life and work of the composer Francesca Caccini earned her the BBC award for International Women's Day in 2018, as well as significant interest from publications such as the Sunday Times, Die Zeit, and The Guardian.
Elena Sartori is currently preparing the worldwide distribution of the CD "The Enchanted Forest" by Francesco Geminiani (narrated by Maddalena Crippa), published in Italy by the magazine Classic Voice in 2025.
