Lucia Cortese, born in Genoa, graduated with honors at a very young age in trombone and subsequently in opera singing. She obtained her second-level specialist degrees in Opera Singing and in Renaissance and Baroque Singing "magna cum laude and special mention" under the guidance of Roberta Invernizzi.
She has performed in Italy and abroad as a soloist, collaborating with major ensembles including La Venexiana, Accademia Bizantina, I Barocchisti, Accademia dell'Annunciata, Cremona Antiqua, Maurice Steger & Friends, Ensemble Sezione Aurea, the Orchestra of the Haydn Foundation in Bolzano, I Virtuosi Italiani, and Camerata Accademica.
She has participated in important national and international festivals and venues, including the Händel-Festspiele in Halle, La Seine Musicale in Paris, Tonhalle in Zurich, SWR Schwetzingen, Sagra Malatestiana in Rimini, Stresa Festival, the Haydn Foundation Symphonic Season in Bolzano, Ristori Barocca in Verona, the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona, Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon, SEVIQC Brežice, Ausseer Barocktage, Grandezze & Meraviglie in Modena, and Festival Roma Barocca.
Currently, she maintains an intensive concert schedule in Italy and abroad as part of a trio with theorbo player Giangiacomo Pinardi and cellist Mauro Valli, with a particular focus on research into the Baroque cantata from Bologna.
