Since 1964, the year of its foundation by Maestro Edgardo Egaddi, the Associazione Culturale Corale "Città di Parma" has achieved high levels of artistic quality thanks to the invaluable collaboration of the prestigious Directors who have led it, including Antonio Burzoni, Bruno Gini, and Mario Fulgoni, earning significant awards and recognition in numerous international competitions.
In over sixty years of history, the choir has participated in many national and international events, collaborating with major orchestras and composers for the performance of the symphonic-choral repertoire.
Among its notable recording activities is the 1996 recording of the complete cycle of Lieder for male choir and guitar by Franz Schubert for the Mondo Musica label, while in 2007 the mixed choir participated in the production of a series of DVDs dedicated to Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music for the Japanese label IMC.
In 2014, on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, the ensemble performed the cantata Die Kindheit Jesu by Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach; more recent performances include Georg Friedrich Händel’s Messiah, Gioachino Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and the premiere of the oratorio Il Cantico dei Cantici by Simone Campanini.
