Alicia Amo is a versatile artist who has successfully combined a solid instrumental background with a prestigious vocal career.
After graduating in violin with honors from Musikene, she specialized in historical singing at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, further refining her skills with masters of the caliber of Alberto Zedda and René Jacobs.
Her artistic excellence is evidenced by her victories in numerous international competitions, including the "Mozart" in Granada and competitions in Berlin, Manhattan, and Naples.
Her extensive training and versatility allow her to embrace a repertoire ranging from the 16th to the 21st century, in both opera and concert settings.
As a soprano soloist, she boasts an international career that has led her to collaborate with the most important conductors of the Baroque and Classical repertoire, including René Jacobs, Giovanni Antonini, Marc Minkowski, Thomas Hengelbrock, Raphaël Pichon, and Pablo Heras-Casado, leading ensembles such as Il Giardino Armonico, Il Pomo d'Oro, Pygmalion, Insula Orchestra, and the Danish Chamber Orchestra.
She has graced the stages of major European theaters and festivals, including the Opéra Royal de Versailles, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Theater an der Wien, the Semperoper in Dresden, and the Bozar in Brussels.
In Spain, she has performed at the Teatro Real and the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Liceu in Barcelona, and the Maestranza in Seville.
Her discography includes over twenty recordings for labels such as Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, Alpha, Arcana, Glossa, and Naïve.
In 2013, she co-founded the ensemble Musica Boscareccia with Andoni Mercero, whose first recording was nominated for the ICMA.
Dedicated to passing her knowledge to new generations, she holds singing masterclasses at the University of Burgos and the University of Murcia, and at the Festival Curso Internacional de Música de Vitoria.
