The building that today houses the Fondazione Teatro Due in Parma has a history spanning over a century. It was designed in 1894 as a Public Bath and built in 1902 in Viale Basetti, featuring innovative solutions such as wells for water supply. In 1904-1905, the swimming pool and showers were inaugurated within an Art Nouveau structure.

In the 1930s, during the Fascist era, the building was renovated and transformed into the headquarters of the Opera Nazionale Dopolavoro, featuring a theater, cinema, and recreational spaces. During the war, it was used as a military canteen and gymnasium. In the post-war period, it saw various uses and periods of neglect, hosting institutions such as the Polizia Partigiana, ECA, Vigili Urbani, and ARCI.

In the 1970s, the Compagnia del Collettivo arrived, progressively occupying and renovating the entire building. In 1980, the Municipality officially entrusted the management to the company. In 1985, a renovation was launched that turned Teatro Due into a flexible and multifunctional space. At the end of the 1980s, the swimming pool was demolished to make way for a parking lot. Since 2002, a major expansion and renewal project began, leading to the current layout.

Teatro Due is now characterized by a mobile structure, with ten performance spaces of different sizes where it is possible to operate simultaneously, thus expanding the possibilities for artistic work and testing, as well as for public attendance.
