Founded in 1989 by the violinist Fabio Biondi<\/strong>, Europa Galante<\/strong> is an Italian instrumental ensemble specialized in performing Baroque and Classical repertoire on period instruments.<\/p>\n

Born from the need for an Italian voice in a field then dominated by Northern European musicians, the orchestra rapidly established itself on the international scene thanks to a discography honored with numerous awards \u2014 including the Diapason d'Or, Choc du Monde de la Musique, BBC Editor's Choice, and three Grammy nominations \u2014 and a presence in the world\u2019s most important concert halls, from Teatro alla Scala<\/i> in Milan to Carnegie Hall<\/i> in New York<\/strong>, from the Concertgebouw<\/i> in Amsterdam to the Sydney Opera House<\/i>.<\/p>\n

In addition to interpretations of great Baroque masterpieces \u2014 most notably its celebrated reading of Vivaldi<\/strong>\u2019s The Four Seasons<\/i> \u2014 the ensemble has distinguished itself through the revival of rare 18th-century works and the rediscovery of the 19th-century bel canto repertoire (Bellini<\/strong>, Donizetti<\/strong>, Rossini<\/strong>, Verdi<\/strong>) on original instruments, in collaboration with leading international festivals such as the Chopin Festival<\/i> in Warsaw. It received the Premio Abbiati in 2002 and 2008, and the Premio Scanno for Music in 2004.<\/p>\n

As the resident orchestra of the Fondazione Teatro Due<\/i> in Parma, Europa Galante<\/strong> continues its intensive activity with tours across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.<\/p>\n<\/div>
